Art and Colour Therapy
Art therapy is broadly defined as a therapeutic process that utilises art media, images, creative processes, and patient/client responses to the end product as a reflections of an individual's development, abilities, personality, interests, concerns, and conflicts. Combined with colour therapy it can add extra depth and meaning to all the above with the individual's choice and mixture of colours.
Generally art therapy takes the form of paint and brushes which is fine if you like that sort of thing but if like me you cannot draw then the whole object it pointless. However i am seriously into digital photography and the production of graphic images such as the logo above gives me a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction. The need to be creative is within us all and a vital part of a positive self image.
The use of computer technology overcomes the can't draw mental block and makes the whole process easier with no paints or mess to tidy up. It is easier for the physically challenged with can do art with a mouse, the editing and use of colour is easier and can reflect changing moods and it make art possible for more people who do not necessarily see themselves as artistic. Moreover it can be supervised and assessed online |
